The safe management of radioactive waste and radiation sources is critical for the safety of society and the environment. In Estonia, the former Paldiski nuclear site and the Tammiku waste repository require daily management and long-term solutions. In addition, radioactive materials are generated in various industrial and medical sectors, and their safe storage, deactivation and decommissioning require specialists.

  • Mõõteseadmete kalibreerimine on protsess, mille käigus kontrollitakse mõõteseadme näitu, et kindlaks teha seos mõõtevahendi näidu ja mõõdetava suuruse teadaoleva väärtuse vahel. AS ALARA kalibreerimislabor pakub akrediteeritud teenust ioniseeriva kiirguse mõõtevahendite kalibreerimiseks kiirguskaitse eesmärgil (vt akrediteerimistunnistust). Meie labori kvaliteedijuhtimissüsteem vastab standardile EVS-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 ning meie kalibreerimismeetod põhineb standardil EVS-EN ISO 4037-3:2021. Vaata täpsemalt meie labori […]

Then we visit the facility with a guide. During the tour, you can see the reactor sarcophagus, where the Soviet Union’s I […]

  • Radioactive substances cause ionising radiation, which is divided into alpha, beta, gamma, X-ray and neutron radiation. Ionising radiation is invisible, odourless and colourless or imperceptible to humans, but it can have a significant impact on human health and the living environment. What is ionising or radioactive radiation? Ionising radiation can come from both natural and man-made sources, with different doses and [...]
